consulting role for a 6 month project. Your hours should be close to
1000 by the end of the initial contract. Total project hours would be
around 6,000 hours for the full team.
They have a team of iPhone developers who've been working at this
client for the past 14 months and there's a lot more work on the way.
If things work out, your role would also be 12 months+... They also
have a team of 3 consultants starting an iPad project onsite... Big
projects and great teams can make for a very rewarding experience.
The travel to London is not absolutely required... We can submit you
for the onsite only roles (which are immediate)... I just felt it
would be best to put it out there since the client may ask about it as
well...

Could you tell me a little more about these positions?
(1) What the field is? (ie: financial, entertainment, gaming?) - News Media
(2) How much travel is expected -- and duration: ie, 1 time
to London for 1 month or monthly for 1 week each month,
etc.
Travel is not required for every position, but we would sure like to
find people who are willing. The current project expectations would
be around 2 trips of 2-3 week durations over the course of the
project.
(3) Is this direct contract from a company, or work through a
digital media contracting/consulting firm?
Actually I'm helping a good friend of mine (and CEO of a Consulting
Group) put together the project team. You would be working with his
team at the client site. They are direct and have built several
iPhone app's for this client already. Also, they are working on an
iPad project there as well... Great group - small, impactful, and
some of the sharpest guys I've come across in my career...
(3) Pay rate. Currently, I do projects for $100/hr. Anywhere
from 1hr to 200 hrs (most projects are 40 to 120 hrs).
Those rates would be a bit high. The top rate (from what I've been
told is $85/hr, can maybe stretch it to $90 for the right person).
However, this project is long term 1000+ hours.

Primary Responsibilities:
Working on features in our iPhone applications, which could include any number of cool things to do with location, social networks (ours and 3rd party networks like Twitter and Facebook), new web services (internal and external), incorporation of user-generated content, tying our client code to critical server-side functionality, and just about anything else you can think of to do with the rich iPhone SDK API.
· Proactively working to architect new, and refactor existing, code to allow for maintainability, extensibility and re-usability.

· Architect software solutions and determine current limitations and compatibilities between subsystems, selection of new concepts and methodology, and development of major routines and utilities.

Skills Education and Experience:
· 2+ years of iPhone Objective C, and Cocoa development experience with at least 1 year of iPhone experience and at least 1 significant application in the Apple iPhone App Store

I have two different roles both senior Iphone Developers and both are Full Time employees roles. One is in Seattle with Real Networks (Cloud Team).
The other is with a company in Bellevue called Tweddle. Tweddle is pushing live content (Entertainment - music/movies, GPS/Maps, the ability to start your car, automobile diagnostics) from a mobile platform (Android, Iphone, Symbian, J2ME and Brew, WinMo, etc) to onboard automobile computers.
They are combining a comprehensive understanding of automotive systems (A knowledge base that has been built and refined over more than half a century) – With mobile technology that has been deployed by major consumer brands around the world.
